COSHH regulations require that control measures such as Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems are regularly checked – at a minimum of 14-month intervals – to ensure they’re working correctly to control hazardous substances.
LEV systems often deteriorate over time, to such an extent that they no longer provide the necessary abatement of a hazardous substance. Incorrect installation and use, due to a lack of understanding of the basic principles by the installer or user, may also result in failure to provide adequate protection.
EnviroDat can carry out a regular assessment of your LEV system, checking for common problems such as insufficient capture velocities, poor hood design or general system design, and issues with vapour density or inertia.
We employ highly competent engineers with the appropriate training and experience to carry out LEV assessments, and provide ideas and advice for continued improvement. Familiar with all LEV monitoring standards and current methods, every member of our team belongs to a relevant professional body, and we’re committed to their ongoing professional development.
